The area is well served with a Costcutter and a newsagent/off-licence within 5 minutes walk.

At Canning Town there is a market on Saturday and a variety of shops and banks.

At Stratford, there is a daily covered market in the shopping centre, which has a supermarket and various shops and banks. There is also a large Safeways store and Showcase cinema.

Beckton has a greater range of large shops – Savacentre; Currys; Boots; B&Q; PCWorld; Argos etc. There is also a multiplex cinema.

There are recycling bins for paper and glass near Plaistow tube station and also on London Road.

There are three good sports centres in the area – Balaam Street; Newham (on Prince Regent Lane) and Atherton (Stratford).

Local transport links

Plaistow tube station is a few minutes’ walk away – Hammersmith & City and District lines run from there; along with a wide range of buses. Buses can also be caught at the top of the Road.

At West Ham, Stratford and Canning Town there are overland trains. The DLR also runs through Stratford and Canning Town.
